New build Home Information Packs (HIPs)
HIPs suspended by Communities and Local Government (CLG)
On the 20 May 2010, Communities Secretary Eric Pickles, laid an order suspending Home Information Packs with immediate effect, pending primary legislation for a permanent abolition.
The suspension means that HIPs are no longer legally required as part of the home selling progress.
This does not affect the requirement to have Energy Performance Certificates, as they are still required for Building Control.
